Commercial printer Print Revolution has been acquired by Nottingham-headquartered creative agency Ginger Root.

The agency, which already provides in-house design, print, marketing, web and clothing services, completed its purchase of the Lenton-based printer last month.

The deal provides Ginger Root with an additional Nottingham-based production site, adds litho to its print capabilities with Print Revolution’s Presstek 52DI, and expands its expertise and output.

“We are always looking for ways to expand our services and capabilities and a mutually beneficial opportunity arose when speaking with Print Revolution,” said Ginger Root director Anthony Scoon.

“We were attracted to it because it was a local environmentally conscious printing company with some really impressive equipment.

“Being as environmentally friendly as we can be is very important to us. As a business that offers printing, we are conscious of our impact on the environment.

“The wide-format printer that we currently own is the most environmentally friendly version you can have, for example, and taking on a company with a key focus on the environment was a big positive for us.”

Ginger Root has grown to a team of 12 since it was established in 2014. In 2016 it acquired creative design agency Aswellas and then in 2017 it merged with promotional and clothing company Pulse Custom Wear. Earlier this year the business hired an in-house marketing team.

Print Revolution will remain based at its current premises, with no rebranding activity planned, and two of its staff have remained with the business.

All of Ginger Root’s existing equipment, which includes Xerox digital and HP Latex wide-format printers and a raft of finishing kit, has now been moved across to Print Revolution’s premises.

Ginger Root said this has provided more space at its headquarters for its creative studio, marketing and clothing teams. Turnover for the combined entity was not disclosed.
